Portals Nous
Portal Nous sits above the rather more glamorous Puerto Portals, but it is a pleasant enough resort in its own right. It's popular with British second home owners, probably because of its proximity to Palma and its location on the south west coast.
There are quite a few high rise apartment blocks and suburbs of private villas, but not many hotels.
Above Portal Nous is the hilly settlement known as Costa d'en Blanes. The villas in this area get more exclusive the further up the hillside you go, and the views of the sea and Palma to the east are astonishing. Even if you don't stay here, you can still take a walk up to the top along little lanes, and see exactly how the other half live.
